We're beyond thrilled to celebrate Episode 50 of Bad Listener Online with a special mix from AK—someone who’s been at the top of our dream guest list since before we even launched this series. AK is a multifaceted DJ and artist whose seamless blends of Detroit techno, hip hop, and especially DnB and Jungle rhythms create an energy that is truly unique and incredibly infectious.
Over the past few years, AK has been lighting up dance floors at some of the hottest clubs and events in the Detroit scene and across the U.S., including sought-after bookings at Boiler Room and Detroit's iconic Movement festival. As a core member of Blueprint 313, alongside fellow Detroit selectors Blackmoonchild, Yasmeenah, and DJ Etta, AK not only spins but also curates some of the most iconic events in the city.
We’re extremely grateful that AK reached out to us to film this set at Red Door Digital, where we had the pleasure of capturing her in the zone, spinning a full hour of straight DnB. Thanks so much again to AK and thank you all so much for listening and tapping in with us over the last 50 weeks!

BAD LISTENER INTERVIEWS: Moszs talks new project "Lime", being mentored by Gulley & Waajeed
We're excited to bring you an exclusive interview with one of Detroit's most talented producers, Moszs! Known for his soulful hip-hop productions, Moszs is a master of intricate sample chopping, versatile drum programming, and hypnotic vocal samples.
His latest project, Lime, draws inspiration from the Detroit techno music and jit dancing culture that his father introduced to him at a young age. This new project features the uptempo rhythms of Detroit techno while still maintaining Moszs' instantly recognizable vibe.
We caught up with Moszs at Paramita for a quick chat about his beginnings in music, being mentored by Gulley and Waajeed, and the response to his new project. Tune in to hear about his journey, influences, and the creative process behind Lime.

Intimate In-studio Funk / Ghettotech / Hip-Hop Performance | Motorkam - BAD LISTENER ONLINE 048
We're excited to bring you a live in-studio performance from Motorkam! We first crossed paths with Motorkam almost a decade ago at Assemble Sound's legendary Corktown church studio, and since then, he has been splitting time between Detroit and NYC and steadily building a buzz with tracks that blend influences from ghettotech, electro, hip-hop, and funk into a unique sound all his own.
On his latest project, BlackDaddy 3: Return of the Father, Motorkam resurrects his smooth-talking, psychedelic lothario persona, BlackDaddy, across eight tracks featuring a vibrant mix of sonic textures crafted by Smokinkeef, Monsuun, and the Lasso.
For this special session, we met up with Kam and Smokinkeef at Stereo House Studios to record a live performance of the entire new project, plus an exclusive unreleased track produced by Detroit hitmaker Danny G and the Lasso.

This week, we’re thrilled to present a banging Miami bass and electro mix from Lo Dazz! A Detroit-based DJ, Lo Dazz has steadily built a reputation for high-energy mixes that seamlessly blend a wide range of genres, with a particular affinity for danceable electronic grooves. In 2023, Lo Dazz joined forces with fellow DJs Hardin and Lady Witch to form Magnetic Rose Detroit, a collective dedicated to community building and hosting events that showcase the best local talent alongside DJs from across the U.S.

This week, we're beyond excited to present an exclusive first ever solo DJ set from Milo from HiTech! A veteran of the Detroit/Ann Arbor music scene, Milo has built a reputation as a solo artist with his electrifying performances, forward-thinking production, and potent lyrics. In recent years, he joined forces with fellow MC/producer Milf Melly and DJ 47Chops to create HiTech, an electronic supergroup injecting new energy into the classic Detroit ghettotech sound. By blending it with the vibe and feel of modern rap, HiTech is reintroducing the genre to a new generation of listeners while staying true to its Detroit roots. Since releasing their debut project in 2022, HiTech has taken their sound worldwide, attracting attention and accolades from high-profile artists and publications and rocking crowds across the country and overseas.
We've known Milo for the better part of a decade, with Monsuun collaborating on numerous tracks with him over the years. Consisting of Sonny Dulphi and Pat2Dope, these veterans of the Ann Arbor/Detroit music scene have been releasing projects and lighting up underground shows for years. Since joining forces as Dastardly Kids, they've reached new heights of success, creating a sound that merges classic lyrical boom bap, hypnotic southern rap, and the pulsating beats of Detroit ghettotech.
We've been tapped in with Dastardly Kids for over a decade. Monsuun, in particular, has collaborated on a ton of music with them over the years. So for this special performance, we gathered at Monsuun's apartment in the city for a family reunion featuring Dastardly Kids and a guest appearance from their close friend and collaborator, King Milo from HiTech.
